:: my friend and i have been travelling around greece. yesterday, we had a day in the park at my hometown. we spent our daytime doing sightseeing and late in the afternoon we had a picnic in the park with maria! we also watched shakespeare in lovecache which reminded me how much i like the elegant beauty of gwyneth paltrow!
i have a friend visiting me for a week and i‘m so happy that she is going to be around! i‘ve made a sightseeing plan for us; we are going to look around in athens for a bit and then visit an island. i‘m looking forward to it.
i ‘ve also started liking greek coffee again. there was a huge bubble on my froth today and a friend explained to me that the bubble symbolizes an eye looking at me! weird stuff!
why do we fall in love with the wrong people at least once in our lifetime?
this question got stuck in my head after a sequence of peculiar romance films i have been watching the last days.
first was the reader; teenager falls in love with a much older woman with secret past. second, let the right one in, a strangely pleasant/artistic kinda fantasy/thriller film with main characters two kids, who stay together no matter what.
everything started on my sofa thinking how boring my day had been. but then, inexplicably, i got this idea to wander off for a bit, when my steps were mysteriously led to my old good local cinema for some evening excitement.
so, there i was with my fellow cinema goers (4 in total including myself) watching this eerie swedish fantasy film directed by tomas alfredson. if you like weird love stories (as i do), vampires and swedes get yourself a ticket to this film. if you are a bit squeamish, buy two tickets and take somebody with you to hold on to during the intense scenes. cause there are some strong bits in this film.
i absolutely loved the photography in this film by hoyte van hoytema. all those white swedish landscapes and kids’ portraits .. the mood of the film is so positive and poetic despite the bloody cover of it! i highly recommend it; this and also falling in love with the wrong person for at least once in your lifetime…
p.s. i have new shoes. they ‘ve already become my favourite pair!
last night my sister and i watched the reader. omg, i loved this film. it’s based on bernhard schlink’s “der vorleser”. kate winslet is better than ever and i also liked the young guy who was playing with her. i admit that we got a bit sentimental but we enjoyed it!
i got some good travel pals who like exploring. last weekend, we joined our forces and we decided to look around in our area. we did discover some amazing nature and i had the chance to take some great shots. have a look!
