“… fueled by increased awareness of the environment and an ensuing interest in protecting, not invading, local culture, the trend to reconstructing more traditional buildings has gathered pace. the destination-du-jour is greece and specifically its 1,400-odd islands. the keyword is local: local builders creating spartan summerhouses with local materials, inspired by the local architectural vernacular, furnished with things picked up in the local market. it’s the simple life – if you are rich enough to enjoy it: the yacht is moored just out of the sight around the bay and your friends made sure you didn’t have to fly commercial.”
“… disconnect their blackberries and spend time reconnecting with nature – also known as drinking a lot of ouzo with the neighboring goat herder (and waking up with the odd whiff of goat in your bed).”

“… your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. and most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. they somehow already know what you truly want to become. everything else is secondary…”

i’m taking a break from summer photography and having seen this post i decided to give it a try and make my own cold brewed coffee. i used decaf filter coffee as i can’t take caffeine {which worked just fine} but the original recipe calls for normal filter coffee.
i mixed coffee and water in a jar and i left it overnight. i then filtered the mix using another jar and double filter. this makes some sort of coffee concentrate which i diluted with water and i topped with ice.
it came out pretty tasty for my likes, but, really, i’ m not a coffee specialist.
for breakfast, i prepared some spread with tahini and honey to go with my wholewheat rye bread.
yummy!
