konichiwa people!
lately i feel like running. just like tom hanks in forrest gump. but, as my physical condition is not at its best, running after 10 min turns into jogging, walking and then crawling. still, it’s kind of liberating.
above some photos of my office in hometown; we {meaning mum and myself} just finished renovating it. it took us almost a whole year to do it up. yet, one year is always better than two or more years.
anyways, got to go now. took these photos today and i wanted to share them with you as tomorrow i ‘m off to the island and then back to athens.
enjoy thursday. love.
p.s. seize the day, every f* day.

hello pals!
i saw this car parked somewhere in the centre of athens the other day and couldn’t but just snap a photo of it. this is my dream car; i so love the colour of it.
photos of the flamingos taken on my ride back from lefkada. i believe they were on the way to the south, where days are getting long and hot.
in the last photo, some view of my sister’s balcony in athens. love the sunset colour palette. it gives me so much hope.
at the moment, i’m living like wandering jew. i’ve given myself the name the compact girl with all my basics packed comfortably in a small hand luggage, making me realise that myself and my people are what i truly need. this is a lesson i’ve learned the hard way.
hope you are good. all my love to you. enjoy october!

“… fueled by increased awareness of the environment and an ensuing interest in protecting, not invading, local culture, the trend to reconstructing more traditional buildings has gathered pace. the destination-du-jour is greece and specifically its 1,400-odd islands. the keyword is local: local builders creating spartan summerhouses with local materials, inspired by the local architectural vernacular, furnished with things picked up in the local market. it’s the simple life – if you are rich enough to enjoy it: the yacht is moored just out of the sight around the bay and your friends made sure you didn’t have to fly commercial.”
“… disconnect their blackberries and spend time reconnecting with nature – also known as drinking a lot of ouzo with the neighboring goat herder (and waking up with the odd whiff of goat in your bed).”
from monocle mediterraneo 2011.

“… your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. and most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. they somehow already know what you truly want to become. everything else is secondary…”

wishing you a good week!

weather has been really crap lately. to brighten up my gloominess, i went through photos from last summer.
here are some taken on the ferry back to athens, end of august.
hope your weekend has been great. mine has been quite interesting. i have been doing some serious research on modern greek mentality in the greek countryside.
outcomes to be announced soon.
wish you all a great week!

photos today are taken in maria’s lovely shop. it’s always very refreshing to meet her. even though her news didn’t exactly make my day, it was nice to see that she is coping well, smiling to life, always supportive and kind.
we have gone a bit crazy these days converting day to night and vice versa; if feels like being a student again but this time my yawning starting point comes earlier than 10 years ago.
it’s not only our strange sleeping pattern but a habit we ‘ve developed upon tieu’s arrival; early morning film watching. and when i say {write} early i mean really early.
films we have watched so far; mary and max, punch-drunk love, the wedding planner, my bluberry nights and bananas.
i have already watched all at least once.
however, this is meant to be a quick post as my friend is getting ready to go out and i am still in my pjs and she is nagging at me.
pls excuse any grammar or syntax mistakes; no time for checking tonight.
wish you all a nice sunday!
